The DANIEL ROTH Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton represents a new chapter in the evolution of one of the Maison’s most emblematic creations. Remaining faithful to the calm proportions and understated elegance of the Extra Plat, this timepiece introduces skeletonisation for the first time in the brand’s modern revival, revealing the movement as an integral part of the design.
Housed in a slender 38.6 × 35.5 mm double‑ellipse case crafted from 18k rose gold, the watch measures just 6.9 mm in thickness, preserving the signature refinement and comfort of the Extra Plat collection. The openworked architecture offers a clear view of the manually wound calibre DR002SR, developed and manufactured entirely at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton under the supervision of Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini.
The DR002SR has been re‑engineered specifically for skeletonisation, with reshaped bridges and plates crafted in solid 18k rose gold. Meticulously hand‑finished throughout, the movement displays numerous hand‑polished internal angles and black‑polished steel components, expressing traditional high watchmaking with clarity and restraint.
Produced in extremely limited numbers each year, the Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton is designed for collectors who value mechanical integrity, artisanal finishing, and timeless proportion—where transparency serves not as spectacle, but as an expression of horological purity
